Peckatone papers, 1713-1809.

Collection includes scattered legal, financial and personal papers of members of the Corbin, Lee, and Turberville families who inhabited Peckatone plantation in Westmoreland County, Va. It illuminates the history of Virginia's trans-Atlantic tobacco trade, plantation management, and family relationships. Papers of Hannah (Lee) Corbin (1728- 1782); her romantic partner, Dr. Richard Lingan Hall (d. 1774); and Hannah's son-in-law, George Turberville, figure most prominently.
